Introduction #

To do the screen modification you will need a number of parts and accessories. Together with the community member “Geaksty” we created a custom LCD bracket to neatly mount the screen onto the metal chassis of the RTI unit.

This frame is guaranteed to fit on P1 style RTI displays. If you have another type of display get in touch.

Display Type #

Currently we use a 6.5” AT065TN14 LCD screen that is available on AliExpress. Below you see a picture that also includes the capacitive touch screen that is recommended.

Notes #

This mod requires some soldering, a crimping tool and access to a 3D printer or printing service. Ideally we get to the point to reuse the original screen but for now this remains the cleanest solution to upgrade the system in your car.

Through the 10-pin Molex connector it is possible to disconnect the RTI unit entirely and take it out as a whole. This requires you to cut the original USB Touchscreen cable in order to route it through the connector.

The DuPont wires are there to power the screen when the RTI was not in the car from the factory and if you don’t have the appropriate wire harness. In that case you should of course use the original connector to power the screen!
